So many modern gadgets emit radiation in our homes and may pose a serious threat to our family’s health. This is something that we all need to think about and how best we can deal with it.
Wi-Fi , Bluetooth, tablets, mobile phones, microwaves, laptops, wi-fi speakers and the rest, we all use these devices on a daily basis — more now than ever with so many of us working from home these days.
It can’t be good for us!
Now, the good news, you can lessen the exposure to this harmful electromagnetic radiation by simply introducing the right plants to your home.
Yes, by adding plants known to absorb or combat these waves will help you and your family stay healthy.
Radiation emissions from our everyday devices can have a negative impact on your health, especially with prolonged and constant exposure that we are getting during this dreadful Covid pandemic. It only makes sense to try and find ways to combat this radiation exposure.
Constant exposure to this radiation is known to cause headaches and can heighten stress levels. Keeping these plants around your home can combat these symptoms, make your home look nicer & purify the air.
Here are some plants which are readily available that will really make a difference to you, your family and, indeed, your home.
Cacti
Most, if not all plants can absorb radiation, but a Cactus is one of the best plants for absorbing harmful EMF radiation. You don’t have to do anything special other than keep the plant in near proximity to the table/desk that you work from to be honest I have my cactus on a table in the corner of the office and it works wonders, keep one in the bedroom for a better night’s sleep too.
As long as you place a cactus inside the room, it will be effective in absorbing radiation it doesn’t have to be anywhere special. Plants absorb ambient radiation inside the room – whether it is in your bedroom or office or other. It can even absorb radiation from nearby cell towers!
If you are looking to invest in just one plant for your home that can absorb radiation, there is no better choice than cactus!
Snake Plant
If you cannot find a nice cactus plant, another great option for radiation absorption is the snake plant. This plant is known to be a very effective air purifier and great in converting carbon dioxide into oxygen.
The snake plant is a grass like plant properly named Equisetum. For cleaner air and healthy lungs, the snake plant would be a great addition to your home.
The long and thin appearance of the leaves on the Equisetum plant look great and enhance your interior décor. It is also very versatile because you can plant in different types of pots. It does not require a lot of maintenance or watering, which is another great reason to have it …… make your home look good hassle free and you’re going down the healthy route too!
Aloe Vera
Another type of succulent that offers great protection against harmful radiation is Aloe Vera. This type of plant is known historically for its medicinal benefits. You can also use aloe Vera on your skin and hair. It’s good for treating skin burns, sunburn, and dandruff – every home should have at least one! It can also clean the air inside your home by converting carbon dioxide into oxygen even during the night!
Place your aloe Vera out of direct light and away from heat sources. Otherwise, it could wilt or die. Make sure it has good drainage too, as too much water can cause damage to the plant.
Aloe Vera plants are capable of absorbing even higher levels of radiation. So if you want a plant that is powerful enough to deal with high radiation levels from emitted from your everyday devices make sure you get an Aloe Vera for your home or office.
Ferns
Ferns are some of my all-time favourites, from a regular asparagus fern to a Dicksonia Antarica, I love them all! Really easy to care for plants, just keep them out of direct light, as they love a shaded location & regular watering (keep the soils moist to touch, NOT WET). I just love the lushness of ferns and the different tints, tones and shades of green they colour our world with.
Fun fact …. Ferns are immune to aphids as they populated the planet before insects were here.
Ferns are terrific air purifiers and are known for their radiation-absorbing qualities. Ferns are also famous for their antioxidant properties that enable them to fight against the damage that could result from the emission of radiation coming from our everyday devices.
Other plants to be considered for air purification in your home/office would be:
- Bamboo
- Succulents
- Aspidistra
- Fatsia Japonica
Breathe easy with air-purifying plants!
