How to make a Table Centrepiece for Christmas

Set out the materials needed and floral stems and follow Maurice!

Gather all required tools, blossoms and foliage.


Maurice has for this display;

  • Foliage from his garden
  • A pillar candle
  • Some red ribbon
  • White Chrysanthemums
  • Christmas decorations
  • Ceramic pot
  • Block of oasis
  • A sharp florist’s knife
  • A florist’s secateurs



Lay out all materials in clear view, cut oasis to size and insert in pot leaving space for water reservoir



Start with foliage around the edge of pot



Cover circumference of oasis leaving space for flowers



Start to mask ‘cover the oasis’



Build the arrangement in layers



Add some decorations and the ribbon!



Anchor the candle in the centre of the composition ensuring the flame will be clear to safely burn.
